I am a breeder of Miniature Pinschers, my unwillingness to compromise on quality and complete dedication to the breed has afforded me success and considerable satisfaction. My dogs get free run of my home and six secured acres of fenced yard. They get individual hands on attention and regular socialization. I breed only for the show ring. Not every dog wants to be a show dog, however, and I use my background as a social worker to select excellent pet homes. I sell my dogs on CKC non-breeding contracts only and provide a lifetime health guarantee. I am available to the new owner for the lifetime of the dog.

My goal as a breeder is to produce sound, stable, healthy and happy Miniature Pinschers that have outstanding conformation and movement. I give a tremendous amount of time and effort to my dogs but they have given it all back and more.

I show all my own dogs and in less than ten years I have bred over 35 Champions with the pre-fix Patapin. My first litter was an all champion litter of three, finishing in 2000. I have also bred an all champion litter of five.

I have won the Canadian Miniature Pinscher Specialty and the AKC Toy Specialty with an entry of over 100 dogs.

I have bred a Best in Show female and many multi Best Puppy in Show, best in Specialty Show, Group Winners, Group placers, and Puppy Group winners.

I have bred the number 1 Miniature Pinscher in Canada, the number 2 Miniature Pinscher, the number 3 Miniature Pinscher in Canada twice, the number 4 Miniature Pinscher and the number 5 Miniature Pinscher in Canada.

I have placed dogs in Sweden, Malaysia and Australia. All went on to be top ranked in their respective countries.

In 2006 we were ready for a change and began showing huacaya alpacas. We purchased top quality animals from as far away as British Columbia. We began downsizing out miniature pinschers.

We were very successful with the alpacas, winning big awards at the Alpaca Ontario annual show. By early 2009 we had built our herd to 45 alpacas and decided to get out of miniature pinschers and concentrate our resources and energies on alpacas.

We downsized to three of our best miniature pinschers bitches, Leggy, Cammi and Caroline. By mid 2009, we felt the pull to get back into the minpin show ring. We missed the miniature pinschers terribly. We had heard the saying, they get “into your blood” and it had happened to us.

We purchased two show prospect puppies, and found that they did not meet the Patapin standard. We decided that the only way we could get something competitive was to breed out own. We bred Leggy to an American special and got our Beauty, probably the best minpin we have ever bred. Before Leggy whelped, we bred Carolyn to one of our black winning males and got Ravi, Remar and Liza, our third all champion litter.

By the end of 2009 we sold our alpaca herd and were back into seriously showing minpins. For 2010 we will Special Beauty in Canada, finish her AKC championship and introduce Ravi, Remar and Liza to the show ring.

We did learn to keep our numbers small, and with that in mind have decided to carry on. It is our passion!

Beauty in the Group ring in Cleveland, December 20, 2009

Beauty is not ready to embark on her specials career. She is far to silly and looks on her appearances as new opportunities to play in front of an audience. In spite of this, she has pulled it together on occasion and garnered some impressive wins. We will wait for Beauty to mature mentally and physically before campaigning her as a special.
Until then, we plan to spot show her, just because its fun! January 24, 2010.
